Information about Strand Mountain Lodge in Espedalen, Norway
Strand Mountain Lodge is situated in the beautiful Valley of Espedalen also known as "our most friendly wilderness area". The Valley of Espedalen is a continuation of the Valley of Vestre Gausdal, and is the most beautiful part of the Gausdal Vestfjell range. Strand Mountain Lodge is an idyllic small mountain hotel beautifully situated with views over the 12 km long Lake Espedalen. The lodge has a warm and homely atmosphere and the service is excellent. The lounge, with its fireplace, and many of the rooms have timber walls, exactly as one would expect in a typical mountain lodge.

Strand Mountain Lodge has entered a new era with new owners (since three years back) and new hosts.
The owners have in addition owner-ready cabin areas in close vicinity to the lodge, se the menu "Espedalen Fjellgrend" for more information. Areas with up to 450 meters dropp down to the Lake Espedalen below, where each and every new owner gets his/hers own place for boat docking with permit to fish - as the only place in Norway! Further, every cabin area has already water, sewage (this will later be run by the local government) power and broadband.
The owners also see the necessity and value of having a working mountain lodge connected to the cabin area. Strand Mountain Lodge is now being updated and renewed so that it will be functioning as service area towards the cabins, in addition to being a lodge. The opening date is set at December 11th 2009 - there are too many jacks in this game and it just takes a little longer than expected. We are sure that this new date gives us the time we need to get finished.
The hosts "Stefan & Surina" emphasize on food, whereas Surina will be the driving force. You can read more about this on the "food and drink" menu. Following food comes service and here Stefan has to step in. In today's society with stress, effectivisation and cut-backs, is it important to hold on to the things that raises the value without creating big holes in the budget, namely service.
Cozy family-like dinners or nicer multi-course party menus, spiced up with good personal service is, according to Stefan and Surina, the recipy for a successfull visit to Strand Mountain Lodge.
So if you are a couple on a romantic trip or a larger group in search of a nice get-together with good food, send us a request and we will do our outmost to make your wishes come true.

Rooms and prices
The Hotel Strand Fjellstue, managed by Stefan & Surina, is situated near the 12 km long and idyllic Espedalsvannet, 60 km North West of Lillehammer, Norway. The mountain hotel has 20 rooms and 45 beds in total.

"Badestamp" hot-tub with smoking hot water!
When our guests wishes, we fire up our outdoor hot-tub. Enjoy the evening, look at the stars and feel the steam rise from the water! After a heavy mountain trip, nothing beats a relaxing bath in the tub!

MC-enthusiasts love road 255 and Strand Mountain Lodge
Strand Mountain Lodge is situated on "Bjørnson road", road 255 and a stone-through from Lake Espedalen. Road 255 i known to be a curvy road with less traffic and astonishing view. The picture shows one of many MC-groups that stops at Strand on their way through Espedalen.
